In general, you need to apply for a visa to enter Korea. However, citizens of certain countries listed in the link below can visit Korea without a visa for a short-term stay by applying for a K-ETA (Korea Electronic Travel Authorization) instead. 

Please note that this may not apply if your country of residence differs from your nationality, so be sure to check with the Korean embassy in your country.

If your country is not on the list, we recommend applying for a C-3 visa.

All participants are required to attend the closing ceremony. 

If your return flight departs at 9 am, you should leave the dormitory around 4 am. It's difficult to catch a taxi from the dormitory to the Chuncheon bus terminal in the early morning, and you might be tired. So we strongly recommend booking an afternoon or night flight a day after the closing ceremony.

A certificate for the two-week program will be issued to every single student. The following explanation is the note about a two-credit transcript for students who had joined a virtual program(KNU Online Winter Program) before.

(Issue of Transcript) Transcript issue of 2-credit course for summer program and online winter programs uses the same course at KNU. It means that  participating in both programs will be considered as taking the same course repeatedly, and a transcript will not be issued for the second participation. Please be aware that students attending this face-to-face summer program after participating in an online program will only receive a certificate, not a transcript.

由于江原大学夏季线上项目与冬季线上项目开设的课程为同一门课程，因此重复参加时将不会再发放成绩证明，仅发放活动参与结业证书。

Flight Booking & Airport Pickup

We will provide free pickup buses from Incheon Airport at two scheduled times. You can choose either of the options below.

 We will provide more detailed information about the airport pickup in early July.

■ Pickup Location: Incheon International Airport, Terminal 1

■ Pickup Time: (Korean Standard Time) Monday, July 21, 2025

 Option ① 12:00 PM (Noon)

 Option ② 4:00 PM

※ Please book a flight that arrives at least 2 hours before your selected pickup time.  

※ If your flight is delayed or you arrive after the scheduled pickup time due to personal reasons, you must travel to the KNU campus on your own. Limousine buses from Incheon Airport to Chuncheon Terminal run every hour and cost around $20.

 ※ If your flight arrives at Terminal 2, you must take a free shuttle bus to Terminal 1. It takes about 25 minutes, and free shuttles run every 10 minutes.

※ 如果航班延误或因个人原因未能按时到达接机地点，您将需要自行乘坐大巴前往江原大学。除非是深夜，仁川机场每小时都有大巴前往春川客运站（车费约 20 美元）。

※ 如果您的航班抵达仁川机场的2 号航站楼，请搭乘免费的机场接驳巴士前往1 号航站楼。两个航站楼之间的车程大约为 25 分钟，接驳巴士每 10 分钟一班。

If your current country of residence differs from your nationality, coming to a third country (South Korea) may be difficult.

For instance, if a Malaysian national student is studying in the United States, the procedure for coming to South Korea may differ from that of an American. Therefore, it is essential to contact the Korean Embassy in the country where you are residing and prepare the necessary documents in advance.

Once you have paid the participation fee, a crucial step in our process, and we have confirmed the payment details a few days later, we will send you a confirmation email. Then, you need to book your flight ticket and prepare to enter Korea. 

Depending on the country you are staying in, the documents required by the Korean Embassy for entry into Korea may vary. Please check in advance whether the required documents for entering Korea include the one issued by KNU. Also, please let us know in advance whether the document needs to be an original one sent by mail or if it's acceptable to send it via email, so I can assist you promptly.

It varies from country to country, but if you are able to stay in South Korea for a short period with a travel visa, we recommend you apply for a visa that has a more straightforward process and does not require any documents from KNU.

We are currently recruiting participants. The exact number and nationalities of participants will be finalized later so you will know at the online orientation in late May.

We will hold an online orientation at the end of May, so if you have any questions about the program or entry to Korea, you can be guided and can ask questions at that time. Inquiries via email, WeChat, etc., are always welcome.

The staff of the International Office will be with you for all weekday activities in the day time. Several KNU students, called 'supporters,' will also join and stay in a dormitory with you for two weeks.

Wi-Fi is free to use in buildings on campus, such as the dormitories. It is up to you whether or not you would like to use a mobile carrier. However, you will need to purchase a SIM card or use a roaming service if you do you not wish to be without mobile service.
